ACADEMIA opened its doors to the students in January, 2003. In this short period the school has been able to make an impact in the educational arena of Dhaka. It is recognized as one of the better institutions of this kind where quality education is imparted at all levels. This will be evident from the number of students getting ‘The Daily Star’ awards each year on the basis of G.C. E. ‘O’ & ‘A’ level results. This year ACADEMIA was fourth in the list of schools with the highest number of students receiving these awards. A large number of our students have gone for undergraduate studies in reputed institutions at home and abroad.

Aims and objectives:

The idea behind setting up ACADEMIA is to provide quality academic programmers in English Medium leading to GCE ‘O’ and “A’ level examinations and at the same time to foster social development and cultural awareness among the students. Our aim is to make a difference by

• fostering high academic achievement in different subjects of study

• guiding the students to develop effective study skills
• encouraging the students to derive maximum benefit from classroom interaction with teachers.
• discouraging students from seeking private tuition.
• encouraging students to participate in programmes of community service to assist the less advantage section of the population and make them responsible citizens.

To develop a child into a responsible young person he/she needs to be encouraged to develop creativity, interact socially with peers and others around him/her. The student should also understand the importance of good behavior and discipline in addition to formal education.

In ACADEMIA we intend to create the environment for developing his/ her full potential for academic and social achievement. In order to develop creativity, the child is encouraged to contribute effectively in classroom and other co-curricular activities.

Sponsors and Teachers

Sponsors of the school are all reputed teachers of different subjects. Each of them have considerable experience in teaching ‘O’ and ‘A’ level programmes in his own field. All of them are involved in teaching at both ‘O’ and ‘A’ levels at ACADEMIA.

The school has a dedicated team of teachers, some of whom are recognized as the best teachers in their subjects of specialization in Dhaka at this level.
